Personal Prayer Partners

Seek His Face Ministries
Personal Prayer Partners

Every “Core Group” participant for SHFM is encouraged to become a Personal Prayer Partner to someone else in the ministry, developing a relationship with one or more praying friends.
Personal prayer partners pray together weekly–or even daily. Their prayers should be for personal needs as well as for the ministry and community. Sometimes two or more prayer partner groups may choose to meet together for united prayer.
The personal prayer partner concept has a scriptural basis:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Eccl. 4:9, 10, 12.

There is unusual power in united prayer. God has planned for His people to join together in prayer, not only for Christian fellowship, spiritual nurture, and growth, but also for accomplishing His divine purposes and reaching His chosen goals. (Wesley L. Duewell, Mighty Prevailing Prayer, Zondervan, ©1990, page 123.)
Jesus emphasized this truth when He said, For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. (Matt. 18:20.)
The person who has an active prayer partner relationship with two or three others is not easily overcome by Satan and will find joy in praying God's blessings down upon the church.

Each week a Daily Bible Reading will be available to include in the Personal Prayer Partners Ministry.

Tips to Keep in Mind:

Ask the Lord to teach you to pray. (Luke 11:1-13.)
Make a decision to devote time for personal devotions each day.
Attend the Life Changing Power of Prayer class. Read and study the book
Pray for Pastor Bullock and leaders in the ministry
Identify what you feel are the needs within the ministry and pray for: unity, revival, ministry, etc.
Pray for individuals and situations as the needs present themselves. (Be careful how you share personal issues)
Study the Bible for examples and principles of prayer: Neh. 4; Eze. 37 and 47; Isa. 50:4; Dan. 9; Matt. 6:9-15, etc.
Read books on prayer and share your insights with your prayer partner. Ask the Lord to guide in choosing whom you should pray for.
Pray also for world government and your city and neighborhood that the good news of the gospel may reach everyone.
Remember that your prayers for others will only be as powerful as your own personal prayer life. Praying with your prayer partner should not take the place of daily personal prayer time.

Remember this is a time of prayer FIRST
Hold each other accountable to the sacred time for prayer

SHFM Update 3

We were all glad to be able to share this afternoon with prayers, praise and worship. Jesus indeed is our helper in prayer. I am encouraging you this week to make every effort to reach out to others in the "Core Group" for your partner in prayer. Today, we were blessed to have 12 new persons share in worship.
Melissa enjoyed opening gifts for Baby Zion and the food and fellowship was great! Thanks to all who made the sacrifice of LOVE this Valentine's Day for Melissa and family.
Please read Chapter 3 in the textbook, The Life Changing Power of Prayer for our study next week. Additional books are on order, and I hope to pick them up this week.
The Daily Bible Readings are as follows:
Monday, Feb. 15 - Eyewitnesses of Jesus' Majesty (2 Peter 1:16-21)
Tuesday, Feb. 16 - Witness of the True Light (John 1:6-13)
Wednesday, Feb. 17 - The Kingdom Has Come (Matthew 12:22-28)
Thursday, Feb. 18 - Beseeched the Lord, David's Son (Matthew 20:29-34)
Friday, Feb. 19. - Hailed as the Son of David (Matthew 21:1-11)
Saturday, Feb. 20 - To This We Are Witnesses (Acts 3:11-16)
Sunday, Feb. 21 - Listen to Him (Matthew 17:1-13)
Wednesday, February 17 is the beginning of the Lenten Season on the Christian calendar. This is a time of prayer, fasting and preparation to celebrate Easter. Since Sundays celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, the six Sundays that occur during Lent are not counted as part of the 40 days of Lent, and are referred to as the Sundays in Lent. The number 40 is connected with many biblical events, but especially with the forty days Jesus spent in the wilderness preparing for His ministry by facing the temptations that could lead him to abandon his mission and calling. Christians today use this period of time for introspection, self examination, and repentance.
Thanks again for your love and support. This week, be intentional and invite your friends who do not go to a church to visit with us, next Sunday, February 21, 2010. Start now inviting. Be Persistence! It will pay off in the END.
We are about building the kingdom of God!

Seek His Face Ministry - Update1

Mission Statement
The mission of “Seek His Face Ministries” is to preach the gospel, empowering persons to understand its meaning for their social, economic, spiritual, and political lives, and alleviate forms of oppression when they occur, through the power of prayer, love and compassion.

Salvation Is Yours!!
The Bible says,

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"
The problem is that . . .. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God.

The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever.

The Bible says “The wages of sin is death.”
The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago, God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.

If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."
Did you pray this prayer? YES --- Do you still have question, please call Dr. Bullock 301-577-533

Seek His Face Ministries

Seek His Face Ministries is a ministry being created to address youth related issues. This ministry will use every resource to empower and enhance the ability of young people to connect with Jesus Christ, hence, this blog is among the many tools that will be used.

This ministry will listen and respond appropriately with the bend of scripture references to address and hopefully resolve youth issues as related to religious and moral stances, peer pressure etc.

It may seem as if this is a duplication of services that can be found at any local church, synagogue or other religious institution--or at home with parents. While that is a reasonable rationale, this ministry adds a central core value that perhaps is not found in these aforementioned sentence. This ministry will provide the core value in the subsequent blog.
