SHFM Update 3

We were all glad to be able to share this afternoon with prayers, praise and worship. Jesus indeed is our helper in prayer. I am encouraging you this week to make every effort to reach out to others in the "Core Group" for your partner in prayer. Today, we were blessed to have 12 new persons share in worship.
Melissa enjoyed opening gifts for Baby Zion and the food and fellowship was great! Thanks to all who made the sacrifice of LOVE this Valentine's Day for Melissa and family.
Please read Chapter 3 in the textbook, The Life Changing Power of Prayer for our study next week. Additional books are on order, and I hope to pick them up this week.
The Daily Bible Readings are as follows:
Monday, Feb. 15 - Eyewitnesses of Jesus' Majesty (2 Peter 1:16-21)
Tuesday, Feb. 16 - Witness of the True Light (John 1:6-13)
Wednesday, Feb. 17 - The Kingdom Has Come (Matthew 12:22-28)
Thursday, Feb. 18 - Beseeched the Lord, David's Son (Matthew 20:29-34)
Friday, Feb. 19. - Hailed as the Son of David (Matthew 21:1-11)
Saturday, Feb. 20 - To This We Are Witnesses (Acts 3:11-16)
Sunday, Feb. 21 - Listen to Him (Matthew 17:1-13)
Wednesday, February 17 is the beginning of the Lenten Season on the Christian calendar. This is a time of prayer, fasting and preparation to celebrate Easter. Since Sundays celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, the six Sundays that occur during Lent are not counted as part of the 40 days of Lent, and are referred to as the Sundays in Lent. The number 40 is connected with many biblical events, but especially with the forty days Jesus spent in the wilderness preparing for His ministry by facing the temptations that could lead him to abandon his mission and calling. Christians today use this period of time for introspection, self examination, and repentance.
Thanks again for your love and support. This week, be intentional and invite your friends who do not go to a church to visit with us, next Sunday, February 21, 2010. Start now inviting. Be Persistence! It will pay off in the END.
We are about building the kingdom of God!
